Project Optimise
Almondco's investment in our processing facility continues with Project Optimise, a brand new facility located at Almondco Renmark, SA.
This new raw material warehouse sees an investment of $8.1m in the expansion of this new logistic hub and will create 25 new jobs.
The construction is progressing very well on the +10,000 square meter warehouse, located Almondco's Renmark processing headquarters, and will significantly increase the storage capacity of our grower members annual almond crop by over 27,000 bins or 13,000mt.
The new facility, while reducing logistic costs by consolidating raw material at Almondco's main regional processing site, will help Almondco process over 50,000 tonnes of almonds per year by 2025, up from 29,500 tonnes in 2021.
The new expansion is in addition Almondco's construction of a world-class value-adding almond processing facility, new high-capacity optical sorting line and waste water plant, over the past two years.
The project is expected to create 20 local construction jobs and an additional five logistics jobs at Renmark, on top of the 200 people Almondco employs overall.

The Almondco loan is under the Loans to Cooperatives Scheme which assists economic growth in the state by supporting investment in infrastructure that benefits members of a co-operative.
